Owner & Chief Investigator
Driven by an unwavering commitment to excellence and as a second-generation NYPD law enforcement professional, Daniel Quinn brings more than two decades of distinguished service with the New York Police Department. Daniel has a background in criminal justice, with additional studies in emergency management and media production. Over the course of his career, he earned multiple promotions, ultimately achieving the rank of Detective Sergeant while serving in demanding investigative and supervisory roles. He was recognized with numerous departmental awards and medals of commendation for exemplary performance and dedication to service.
Throughout his tenure, Daniel was assigned to crime suppression and specialized investigative units, where he handled and supervised thousands of complex cases across diverse environments. His experience spans homicide investigations, shooting incidents, violent crimes, domestic violence, and large-scale missing persons cases requiring multi-agency coordination. He was also selected as one of a limited number of Hostage Negotiators for the City of New York, managing high-risk crisis situations requiring advanced negotiation skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to stabilize volatile individuals under extreme pressure. In his final NYPD assignment, Daniel served as Operations Commander for Staten Island within the Detective Bureau, overseeing investigative teams, critical incidents, and high-stakes operations in a 24/7 command role.
In addition to his investigative leadership, Daniel was detailed to the NYPD Intelligence Bureau, where he collaborated with the United States Secret Service to provide executive protection and site security for U.S. Presidents and foreign heads of state. He served in an advisory capacity for media and entertainment projects, providing technical guidance to ensure accurate law enforcement representation, including consultation for the television series Blue Bloods.
Following his retirement from the NYPD, Daniel relocated to Florida and continued in consulting roles before founding Quinn Detective Agency, where he applies his investigative expertise, leadership, and communication skills in private investigations, law enforcement consulting, and advisory capacities.
Committed to service beyond the badge, Daniel serves on the executive board of Blue Lives NYC, supporting law enforcement families and children facing serious illness who aspire to be Police Officers. He also leads initiatives that foster connection and support among first responders and remains actively involved in mentorship and professional development within the law enforcement community.
